Around here the Easter Bunny needs snowboots and a parka! Perhaps, he will borrow a snowmobile to make his rounds. Seriously, no outside egg hunt for us this year. It snowed over 10in in the Milwaukee area yesterday.
It was an all day blizzard. We had to cancel our egg dyeing plans with Grandma(rescheduled for today). We stayed in most of the day. We did however, make it up to a local grocery store for their egg hunt.
Yes, Sendiks has an egg hunt, IN the store during business hours. This was our second year doing the egg hunt there. They do an awesome job!!
How do they do it? Well, they sprinkle plastic eggs all through the produce section. The kids line up outside the produce section and when it is time they go zooming into the section and grab an egg. It is very easy to spot the eggs (perfect for little kids), easy to grab them and then you turn them in for goody bags.
The goody bags are awesome, stuffed with cookies, candy, chocolate and some a juicebox. The kids were thrilled. It is crazy busy up there for this! We waited in line for 15min (we were second in line), it took 2min to get the eggs. What could be better??
Everyone who is shopping while this is going on is very nice about having to work around this long line of kids. All of them dancing around impatiently asking WHEN will we get to hunt the eggs.
Today is our big egg dye, movie adventure. First, we dye eggs and have lunch with Grandma. Then we have lunch, do a craft and go to a movie. Yes, Grandma has this all planned with military precision. I just show up where I am told. The woman really should be an event planner.
We have two egg kits. One princess style and one GLITTER eggs. The boy picked out the glitter…the girls agreed to the princess. We have 23 eggs to dye. That’s right 23 not 24. Seems Grandma only had 11 eggs on hand to boil-why 11 and not 12 ? who knows.
Since everyone loves dyeing them and hunting for them. I was requested to boil a dozen myself. I didn’t learn of this until Thur afternoon, good thing I had bought a dozen eggs just in case.
Grandma is going to hide the eggs inside her house. This outta be fun! Grandma is wracking her brain trying to figure out WHERE in her house she is going to hide 23 eggs. Plus, she has big baskets for the kids.
Since the kids will get up ungodly early tomorrow, we will have plastic eggs filled with candy hidden around our house to find first, then get dressed and head for Grandmas sorta a progressive Easter.
