S is going to grow up to be one of the only men in the world who can stand shopping. Either that or he will never, ever set foot in a store as an adult, I mean I take him around to all the shopping that we have to do….since he isn’t in school yet. Last year, he was accompanied by his sisters, this year it is just him. Yesterday, we went to help my mother in law pick out a party dress.
He was such a good boy, he came dressed to impress, he had on a Wisconsin Badgers hat, T shirt and sunglasses. He thought he was the coolest kid in the world. He got a little goody bag from his grandma, which had a new hot wheel car in it…little boys and hot wheels you really cant go wrong. She said she felt bad always getting him a little car, I reassured her that according to S you can never have to many little cars.
I was super surprised at the level of patience that he showed (I think he was showing off for grandma). He managed to not whine at all. He stayed busy zooming his little car all around, she had the chance to try on several dresses. Of course, we had absolutely no chance to talk, he is a total conversation monopolizer.
That isn’t to say that he didn’tfinally start to ask when we were leaving. By the time he started to ask that we were tired of looking at the dresses (or at least I was). So much better to go shopping without the girls, because all three of them get into a lot of mischief in the stores. It is like having a gang of octopii. They start to grab things, poke each other, and cause other general forms of mayhem.
He fell asleep on the way home. He looked all grown up asleep in his seat, he still had his sunglasses on and his hat was pushed side ways.
The little guy got to accompany his dad on a trip to the eye doctor today. Yes, he did just go last Thursday with me. I wonder if the eye doctor will remember him? Bet he didn’t get to bring his little rubber lizard along! I know his dad treated him to McDonald’s.
Before you think the kid is sick of going around shopping etc., yesterday, he told me that he enjoyed being all alone, without his sisters and then inquired if I liked it best with just him? I do…to an extent. The girls tend to keep him from talking your ear off, but they also fight with him, and of course, each other. The newest thing, is to SCREAM at the top of your lungs when someone does something to p*ss you off. The screeching is something terrible, I cant believe it doesn’t shatter glass!!
Yesterday, we managed to combine the shopping trip, with dropping stuff off at the new house. Which, I still cannot believe is going to be ours!! I am so very excited. How I wish for a magic wand to move everything into the new house, with a flick of the wrist.
The new house is so shiny and clean it makes our present house look even more of a dump-and it certainly doesn’t need any help in that department. I can only hope that the landlords at the old house, take it off the market for awhile and invest some money in fixing it up (ha ha like that will happened). They have to be the cheapest, laziest landlords ever (and I have rented lots of places). I am strongly hoping I do not have to see any future tenants…because I am pretty sure I wont be able to stop myself from telling them to RUN AWAY FAST!!!
I like very much your writes. I always seek them.

It’s a skill that that can translate into dollars too, if you want to go commercial. And with your new-found beading ability, you’ll always have highly individual and perfectly co-ordinated jewellery to wear with any outfit!
